Not bad for a dog – and a crossbreed at that.
Pudsey the capering canine was given a juicy sirloin steak by his teenage owner Ashleigh Butler yesterday after they swept to victory in the final of Britain’s Got Talent.

And 17-year-old Ashleigh admitted thatall the attention appeared to be going to his head, adding: ‘He’s definitely become a diva.’
Pudsey – who was escorted by three security guards at the ITV studios – has had his name trademarked by Simon Cowell’s company Syco and has already received offers for a book deal, as well as a dog food advert.
He has a pet passport ready for the journey to Hollywood – although he will travel on Cowell’s private jet as he is now too precious to go in a commercial aircraft hold with otherpets.
And as part of his BGT prize he will of course perform for the Queen at the Royal Variety Show later this year.
Ashleigh, from Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, received a cheque for 500,000 after she and Pudsey won the viewers’ vote on Saturday night.
And that is only the start of her six-year-old pet’s money-making potential.
If as expected he continues to work for five years, he will pull in an estimated 5million in personal appearances at 25,000 a time, plus film work, book deals, newspaper columns and merchandising including cuddly toys, posters and T-shirts.
That makes him worth many times his own weight in gold which, since he weighs 22lb, is about 320,000.
Ashleigh and Pudsey’s win, with a routine based around the Mission: Impossible theme, attracted an an average of 11.9million viewers and a peak audience of 14.5million – the highest of any programme this year.
Last year’s BGT final was watched bya peak of 14.4million.

Admitting that she thought the operatic singing act Jonathan and Charlotte would win, Ashleigh added: ‘I couldn’t believe it when they called our names.
‘Quite a few people came up to me afterwards and said they cried when they watched us on stage, I know Amanda and Alesha (judges Holden and Dixon) were in tears and my mum wasin bits.
“I couldn’t stop crying – it hasn’t really sunk in yet.’
She added: ‘We were whisked away afterthe show to do interviews and photos, but I know that Simon Cowell really wanted to have his picture taken with Pudsey.

‘But Pudsey kept Simon Cowell waiting – I can’t honestly believe that!’
The dog, whose ancestry includes border collie, Chinese crested powderpuff and bichon frise, was bred by Ashleigh’s mother Penny and was going to be sold for a few hundred pounds but was instead given to Ashleigh as an 11th birthday present. Heis now insured for 1million.
She admitted: ‘Dogs have been my life since I was about five. That’s all I have ever really known.’
The sixth-former is due to take AS level exams in English, information technology, psychology and dance from Friday. But she might not bother going back to school at all.
She admitted: ‘I haven’t had any time to do any revision – don’t tell my head of Sixth! I’ve never been the brightest or the smartest at school. After we won, mum said, “Oh, we won’t have to worry about your results now, will we!”.’
Rising stars: Ashleigh said of her hopes for the future, “We’ll be back soon with a whole array of dazzling dance routines so watch this space!”
Pudsey has already sired six puppies with a bitch called Crumble, but there are no plans for him to breed again.
He is now being managed by showbiz agent Jonathan Shalit, who looks after Myleene Klass and X Factor star Tulisa Contostavlos, and discovered Charlotte Church.
Ashleigh said: ‘I started training Pudsey in agility from 12 months and he’s been doing canine freestyle since he was three.
“He’s still so young and absolutely loves training and performing. If we don’t do anything for the day he runs around as ifhe’s saying, “Come on, come on, let’s go”.’
She said she and Pudsey were both exhausted after their winning performance and revealed: ‘He slept in bedwith me and I woke up before him. I was prodding him saying, “Come on, Pudsey, wake up” – he was so tired!’
Although there is plenty of interest from boys who would like to share her social life, Ashleigh added: ‘There’s no time for that now. My friends have been so good, but all that will come later.’
